Taberna Book Shop has fascinating stories and a family of staff, all boasting eclectic and wide-ranging knowledge. We are more than a store: we are a shared cultural touchpoint with personality and authority made possible through passion and an undying love of literature.

We opened our first store that can only be found in the sky - www.tabernabooks.myshopify.com. While we may be online, at heart we remain a quirky local bookstore staffed by the keenest of readers and still crazy about books after all these years.

Placing an order

Search for the items you would like to purchase and click ADD TO CART on the right-hand side of the relevant items. Once you have added everything you want to your cart, click on MY CART.

STEP 1: MY CART

Here you can view the items you are about to purchase. Once you have confirmed the items and quantities, click CHECK OUT to proceed.

STEP 2: CHECKOUT DETAILS

Here you can choose where you would like your order to be delivered (an address of your choice). Once you have filled in the required information, click PROCEED TO PAYMENT.

STEP 3: PAYMENT DETAILS

Once you have applied any available vouchers to your order, you can choose to pay for the remaining amount via Credit Card or EFT. If you choose Credit Card, enter the required information and click PLACE ORDER. If you choose EFT, the page will expand to show our banking details. Once you have made a note of these, click PLACE ORDER. You will now need to make the EFT payment via your online banking or at your nearest bank branch.

STEP 4: ORDER COMPLETE

Your order has been received. You will receive an Order Confirmation email, as well as a Payment Confirmation Email once payment is received.

Please note that in the case of EFT payment, customers have 7 working days to make payment and orders are only confirmed on receipt of payment.

The total cost of an item is determined by adding the Taberna Book Shop online prices, displayed on the item detail page, and the cost of shipping the item to you. All items are displayed with VAT included and there are no hidden costs. However, if you live outside South Africa, there may be import or postal duties levied on your purchase, over which we have no control.

Full payment is expected before we place your order with our suppliers. In the case of a credit card transaction, we will acquire the funds using our payment gateway. However, in the case of a direct deposit payment (EFT), it is your responsibility to ensure that we receive proof of payment.

Credit cards - We accept Diners, Visa and MasterCard. Your credit card details, (Name on card, number, expiry date and last 3 digits on the back of your card) will be requested on the Payment page.

Direct Bank Deposits and Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT/Instant EFT) - If we cannot fulfil part of or your order, a credit will be passed for your order.

Please note: new regulations stipulate that in order to perform a refund for any Direct Deposit/EFT/Instant EFT purchases, we require one of the following from you:

• Stamped bank confirmation letter on the bank's letterhead
• Client bank statement showing the client's name and account details
• Cancelled cheque

Please forward your order number as well as one of the above proof of banking details to tabernaeducationalsupplies@gmail.com, so that we can effect the refund.
